How to export your statements

Step-by-step instructions for your processor and bank.

StripeExporting from Stripe

  1. 1

Log in to your Stripe Dashboard

    Go to dashboard.stripe.com

  2. 2

Go to Reports → Balance transactions

In the left sidebar: ReportsBalance transactions. If you don't see Reports, look under More at the bottom of the sidebar.

  3. 3

    Set your date range

Select the month you want to reconcile. One month at a time works best.

  4. 4

    Click Export → CSV

Click the Export button (top right) → select CSV. Stripe will email you the file or download it directly depending on size.

  5. 5

    Upload the CSV to PayRecon

Select Stripe as your processor on the upload page and drag in the file.

Note: Some Stripe accounts show "Financial Reports" instead of "Balance transactions" — either works. Look for the file with columns like id, type, amount, fee, net.

SquareExporting from Square

  1. 1

    Log in to Square Dashboard

    Go to squareup.com/dashboard

  2. 2

    Go to Reports → Transactions

    Left sidebar → ReportsTransactions

  3. 3

Set your date range and click Export

Select the date range → click ExportExport as CSV. Square will download the file.

Other processors

PayRecon works with any CSV that has these columns (names can vary):

date — transaction or settlement date
amount — gross transaction amount
fee — processor fee charged
net — amount after fees (optional but helpful)
description — transaction type or reference

Tips & troubleshooting

Use the same date range for both your processor and bank statements. Mismatched dates are the #1 cause of unmatched deposits.

One month at a time works best. Large exports can miss rows or cause timeouts.

!

Don't open and re-save the CSV in Excel before uploading — Excel sometimes reformats dates and dollar amounts in ways that break parsing.

!

Stripe payouts usually settle 2 business days after the transaction. If deposits seem off by a couple days, that's normal Stripe payout timing — not a discrepancy.

i

Got a PDF instead of CSV? Upload it anyway — PayRecon can parse PDF bank statements from most major US banks.
